ARK: Survival Ascended create a dedicated community server

Rent an Ark Ascended server - host it yourself on your own root server

Would you like to rent your own Ark Ascended server, but are you looking for a way to get full dedicated hardware performance for your game server? Then the Gamed Windows root servers are just right for you, here you can rent a server just for you. This means you don't have to share hardware resources with other customers like you do with other Arc Ascended server providers, making lag and stuttering a thing of the past.

Instead of renting a normal Ark Ascended server, you have the option of simply setting it up yourself on our Windows root server. Instead of using our Gamed web interface, you can start your Ark Ascended server with just a few clicks via the quickly installed WindowsGSM web interface. Players who are already more familiar with the game can simply use SteamCMD to start their Ark Ascended gameserver manually.

You have a complete Windows root server at your disposal, which you can control via Remote Desktop. Here you simply use the familiar desktop interface of Windows Server 2019 or 2022. In addition to Ark Ascended gameservers, you can also install other Windows gameservers or software yourself. You take care of the software and we provide you with high-performance hardware.

And the best thing is, instead of having to rent an Ark Ascended server where you pay by slots, you can decide for yourself how many slots your game server should have. You alone have the complete Windows root server performance at your disposal, set up the software and game server to run best on the hardware you have rented.

At Gamed you will find cheap entry-level Windows root servers, which you can rent for your Ark Ascended server project. Our dedicated root server hardware also has enough disk space for many Ark Ascended mods, so you don't have to worry about disk space.
We have the right Windows Root Server product for all hardware requirements in our range, just take a look around.

Disclaimer and support for the developers:
This tutorial uses the WindwosGSM tool, which is an open source tool for creating Windows game servers and is therefore free to use. We do not rent out a managed solution and are not involved in its development. You only have the option of renting a dedicated server from us on which you can install the WindowsGSM according to the following tutorial. If you like the tool, we would be delighted if you would also support the developers.
Information about support for WindowsGSM can be found here: windowsgsm.com

Rent your dedicated root server from gamed!de

Before you can start with the tutorial, you need a dedicated server. To do this, you can go to the following page and choose a product:
gamed.de/root-server.

Please note that "VServer" and "managed Windows Root Server" products cannot be used for this tutorial.

Step 1: Install windows

After ordering, we will automatically install a Linux operating system. A Windows operating system is required for an ARK:Ascended Community Server. All you have to do is log in to our web interface once and after the Click on the "Reinstall" button, select either "Windows Server 2019" or "Windows Server 2022" and click on "Install". A new installation can take up to 15 minutes, so be patient.

Step 2: Log in and run Install_Windwos_GSM.

As soon as your server is installed with Windows, you have to log in to your server. Die Zugangsdaten bekommst du nach der Installation per Email zugesendet. In dieser findest du auch eine Hilfestellung wie du dich auf deinen Server einloggst. In principle, you can use the "Remote Desktop Connection" program, which is installed by default on every Windows system.
After logging in, double-click on the "Install_Windwos_GSM" file. Conveniently, the file is automatically added by us with every Windows installation, so all you have to do is run it. The WindwosGSM is then automatically installed via "Install_Windwos_GSM".

Step 3: Installation of the gameserver.

After the WindowsGSM has been automatically installed and opened for you, you can click on "Servers" → "Install GameServer" at the top left.

Step 4: Install gameserver

After you have clicked on "Install GameServer", an installation window will open on the left-hand side. In this you select the game you want to install, enter a server name and press the "Install" button.

Step 5 (optional): Error during installation.

If an error occurs during installation, such as the one shown in the picture below, simply press install again. If it still has problems, restart the WindwosGSM once and perform step 4 again.

Step 6: Configure and start game server:

You can also configure your installed game server via the WindowsGSM. Furthermore, you can then configure it using the buttons that you can see in the image below ("start" and "stop").
