Squad 44 is a WWII-set simulation game with a focus on historical accuracy, large-scale battles, a difficult learning curve and a great need for cohesion, communication and teamwork.

Players are offered the opportunity to relive the events of "Operation Market Garden" in the fields and towns of Holland.

This major Allied offensive consisted of British and American airborne forces working together to capture strategically important bridges while the British XXX Corps made their way across Highway 69 to reinforce the attack.

However, constant delays in consolidating the ground in northern Belgium through Nijmegen forced the British First Airborne Division in Arnhem to hold out much longer than planned.
A successful link-up of XXX Corps and the airborne unit was not in sight and so the seventh and final bridge at Arnhem was considered lost.
