Counter-Strike: Source is a port of its popular predecessor, Counter-Strike, to Valve’s Source graphics engine, which also powers Half-Life 2. The result: much more detailed, realistic graphics. As in Counter-Strike, the game pits two groups, terrorists and counter-terrorists, against each other in an FPS format.

There are two main scenarios: a bomb must be placed or defused in a specific location or a hostage must be rescued (or held). The community has developed a wide variety of other scenarios, though, like surf maps, rats maps, pool party maps, jail mod, gungame maps, zombie mods, deathrun and minigames.
